In this video I show you how to literally prepare your canvas so that you can then add color and paint and really start your painting! We do this by sizing out your painting using an architects level and a pencil. And we prepare the canvas surface to receive delicious, colorful paint by first applying gesso as a primer. Enjoy!

Margaret Zox Brown Art Video Tutorial #4 HOW DO YOU WANT YOUR VIEWER TO EXPERIENCE WHAT YOU ARE EXPRESSING WITH YOUR ART?
In this 4th video, I show by introducing examples done by some of the masters just how what you paint and how can affect just how your viewer will experience your art; where the viewer will be in relation to the scene or subject matter and also the kind of relationship the viewer will be having with what is represented in the art.

In this 3rd video, I introduce the concept of perspective along with showing techniques that can be used to make the viewer see objects as being in either the foreground or background. Another step in deciding just what you want to present to your viewer and what you would like he or she to see and experience.

Intro to Oil Painting and Drawing Tutorials
I wanted a place to
share all the knowledge and wisdom I have accrued throughout my 26 years of
painting where I have successfully found my own, unique, color language and
personal, graceful drawing prowess. My Blog sharing will increase to full
blown video tutorials, but to start, I would like to introduce myself.
I am an Expressionist oil painter. I have been drawing for my entire life, painting for 26 years, selling my art for 21 years and teaching both painting and drawing for 11 years.
In the videos that will follow, I will reveal why and how I do all that I do.
So, if you are someone who has always wanted to learn just how to draw and paint, these videos will be the perfect, sequential teaching tool for you where you will not only learn literal techniques but you will hear about and be able to take in more abstract theories of color, drawing and art.
Or, if you are a collector or an art enthusiast, these videos will expose you to a thorough “behind the scenes” from a real artist.
Thanks and stay tuned…
